We’re trying a hybrid approach. If you have spent the last three months dreaming of the day you can get a beer and food handed to you by a stranger while surrounded by people not in your family, then The Porch is there. But they have a few ground rules:

• There is no bar seating or just standing around. You have to be at a table.

• Seating is limited to 8 per table.

• You must have a mask and wear it any time you get up from the table.

• There is outdoor seating, but it’s in very high demand right now, so… no promises.

Option 2, which The Porch staff said others have been doing, is to order take-out food and beverage from them and find a distanced spot on Schenley Plaza. They do offer some cocktails and beer for takeout. (Although, be aware that open alcohol is not officially allowed in the park. Be cool.)

Still feel like you need more personal space? BYO post-run beverage and hang out in the plaza with lots of distance. (See above about open containers.)

Whatever you choose, please respect the restaurant’s guidelines and other people. (As always, don’t be a jagoff.)
